Our Mission

Together, they we are all committed to ensuring that this movement will continue grow stronger every single year. We want to empower our Ambassadors across the country to recognize how vital they are to their communities. Our motto is "Giving Always" and it was intentional. Although we want to see the world stepping up on GivingTuesday each year, it is our hope that individuals and organizations will recognize the value of implementing kindness and generosity, every single day.

Our History

Maria, Jessica, and Samantha met in Washington DC for the first time in May of 2019 where they were all honored with the Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year awards for their work within the military community. Shortly after meeting, they forged a close bond and shared passion for service. They wanted to create something special that would unite all the branches of service in a collective effort to serve with purpose and in kindness. Through this, the #GivingTuesdayMilitary movement was born.

For its inaugural launch in 2019 -- the campaign reached 2.5 million people! The social impact of the day was absolutely incredible. When it was over, they knew they weren't done yet. Inspire Up was launched in 2020 to keep kindness going -- which powers the GivingTuesdayMilitary campaign.

Leadership: Who are we?

We are three military spouses united in a commitment to create a kinder and more giving world. Educationally and professionally, we come from vastly different backgrounds! Jessica a therapist and social worker, Samantha a physician assistant and Maria, a business executive and television producer. Together, we bring a rich and diverse knowledge base to our nonprofit and this passion project of spreading kindness. The military community is spread across the globe as they serve. We believe that we have the potential to create immeasurable waves of impact for those in need.

We do this through #GTM and the Inspire Up Foundation.

Director of Ambassador engagement and #GTM Liaison

Brittany Raines was an Ambassador in 2019 and 2020. Her extraordinary efforts to spread kindness in the Fort Drum community of New York were incredible to watch. The team knew they needed her! At the beginning of 2021, she was asked to come onboard to support and educate other community ambassadors across the globe. With this added layer of support, the team is confident they can uplift and encourage kindness warriors in bigger and better ways.

Air Force spouse, published author and founder of MilSpo Co. With a master's in divinity and a heart for service, her passion for uniting communities and standing in the gap is unmatched.

Melissa Johnson

Army veteran spouse, serial volunteer and finance executive. Her expertise in financial management and dedication to serving others has uplifted the mission of GTM in extraordinary ways.

Monica Bassett

Army spouse, former executive and founder of Stronghold Food Pantry. She is dedicated to eradicating food insecurity and has started her mission by serving our military families. We are so grateful to have her on our board.

Stacy Bilodeau

Coast Guard spouse, graphic designer for Fisher House and Cancer Awareness Advocate, she is amazing! Stacy has been with us from the start, designing our GTM everything and fostering the spirit of kindness everywhere she goes.
